This introduces a new technique — copying an existing component's notes to reuse as a starting point for a new rule — used twice in this step, once for the Car Ceiling and once for the Single Ceiling Panel Items.
Prerequisites
The ceiling hierarchy is assembled.
Steps
1.) Copy the notes from a similar component for the Car Ceiling. Open a similar existing component's rule notes, select all (Select All), and copy them (Ctrl+C) — these notes will help when creating or changing the rule for your new ceiling.
2.) Paste the notes into your new Car Ceiling's document. Paste the copied notes (Ctrl+V) into your new ceiling's rule documentation.
We strongly recommend creating documentation for the product loading process—especially when rules and options are being created or custom user parameters are being defined.
3.) Reload the modified BIM component. Reload your BIM component in DigiPara Liftdesigner by manually swapping the RID number in the Properties window, so it accepts the edited values from the Datamanager.
4.) Define the Car Ceiling's rule assignment. In the Rule Editor, define the assignment for the Car Ceiling's rule — the rule's definitions give you a clue about what the rule is controlling.
5.) Repeat the copy-notes process for the Single Ceiling Panel Items. Select and copy (Ctrl+C) the notes from a similar component, then paste them (Ctrl+V) into your new Single Ceiling Panel Item's rule documentation.
6.) Define the Single Ceiling Panel Items' rule assignment. In the Rule Editor, define the assignment for the Single Ceiling Panel Items' rule.
Result
Both the Car Ceiling and the Single Ceiling Panel Items have working rules, built from similar existing components rules to keep the underlying logic consistent.
