Mirrors and hand rails each use a simpler, two-level hierarchy — Single Mirror Items → Mirrors, and Single Hand Rail Items → Hand Rails — attached directly to the Car Walls rather than the Car Design.
Prerequisites
The Car Design has its walls, ceiling, and floor.
Steps
1.) Find similar mirror components. Find and note the manufacturer/BIM Library and RID for a similar Single Mirror Item and a similar Mirrors component.
2.) Find similar hand rail components. Do the same for a similar Single Hand Rail Item and a similar Hand Rails component.
3.) Copy the Single Mirror Item and the Mirrors component. In Datamanager, copy both using the same 3-step wizard as before.
4.) Copy the Single Hand Rail Item and the Hand Rails component. Copy both the same way.
5.) Describe the Single Mirror Item, then describe and assign the Mirrors component. Add a description for the Single Mirror Item. Then add a description for the Mirrors component, assign the Single Mirror Item to it, and define its position (area settings).
6.) Describe the Single Hand Rail Item, defining its dimensions. Add a description for the Single Hand Rail Item and define its length, height, and depth dimensions.
7.) Describe and assign the Hand Rails component. Add a description for the Hand Rails component, assign the Single Hand Rail Item to it, and define its position and size (area & size settings).
8.) Assign the Mirrors and Hand Rails to the Car Walls. Determine related BIM components for the Car Walls and assign both the finished Mirrors and Hand Rails components.
Result
The Car Walls now have mirrors and hand rails attached, each built from their own two-level component hierarchy.
