Steps
1.) Find a similar guide shoe and note its manufacturer and RID. A guide shoe is the sliding part between the elevator's guide rail and the car — it fixes the car to the guide rail and lets it run up and down. In DigiPara Liftdesigner, find a guide shoe close to the one you want to build, and note its RID and manufacturer/library — both are needed to find the same record in the Datamanager.
2.) Copy the guide shoe in DigiPara Liftdesigner Datamanager. Select the matching guide shoe record and click Copy BIM Components on the Home ribbon. Step through the 3-step copy wizard, then click Close & Open Copy to finish and open the new record. The component is copied with all parameters and values into a new manufacturer / DigiPara BIM Library entry.
3.) Edit the meta data of the copy. Add a new, specific description for the copied guide shoe. Save by opening a new table tab to store the content in the database. The new guide shoe now appears in the DigiPara Liftdesigner BIM Library under its manufacturer with that description.
4.) Check the guide shoe's parameters. Review the guide shoe's existing parameters using Quick Help, which explains what each parameter definition means. For this particular component, none of the parameters need to be changed at this point.
Result
A new, independent guide shoe record exists in the DigiPara BIM Library, with its own description and RID, and its parameters confirmed.
