Overview
This User Guide provides an overview of the DepenSys Tooltips feature, which helps provide clearer explanations of acronyms, care hours, and care categories throughout the product.
When reviewing care hours and resident need calculations in DepenSys, it is important for Home Managers and staff to understand how these figures have been generated. Tooltips offer quick, on-screen definitions of terms, calculations, and acronyms, giving greater transparency and confidence when reviewing outputs.
The purpose of the tooltips is to:
•Define acronyms and Depensys-specific terms to make the system easier to understand.
•
•Explain how care hours are calculated, including the split between skilled hours, care hours, and total hours.
•
•Clarify care categories and their follow-on relationship with dependency scoring.
•
•Support governance and compliance by providing clear, auditable rationale behind figures, so managers can confidently explain outcomes to CQC.
•
Note: This is the first release of DepenSys Tooltips. Future updates will continue to expand the library of definitions and explanations around calculations and outputs, making the system more transparent and easier to use.
