2-Factor Authentication (2FA) secures your account using unique, one-time generated codes.

To add this to your account, an app such as Google Authenticator or Authy is required. To do this, you will need to open the app and click 'Add New Account', which will allow you to scan a barcode or a provided key.

You can set up 2-Factor Authentication for your Coinmetro account using one of the following apps:

How to Activate 2-Factor Authentication (2FA)

2 Factor Authentication can currently be activated for:

  1. Sign in

  2. Password Change

  3. Transaction Approval

  4. Profile Management.

On Desktop or Browser

On the Mobile App

  1. Click on your user avatar on the left sidebar menu on your Dashboard.

  2. Click on the Security tab.

  3. Scroll down and find 2-Factor Authentication

  4. Click on Setup 2FA

  5. Scan the QR code provided using your 2FA mobile app, or copy the secret key and paste it into your 2FA app.

  6. Enter your 6-digit code to complete the 2FA setup.

  1. From the home screen, tap on your user avatar in the top right of the screen.

  2. Tap on Security.

  3. Scroll down and find 2 Factor Authentication.

  4. Tap on the toggle next to 2 Factor Authentication.

  5. Tap on Copy Code, and paste this into your 2FA mobile app. Then, tap Continue.

  6. Enter your 6-digit code into the Coinmetro app to complete the 2FA setup.

Please make sure to save the barcode and the provided key, as these are necessary for recovery.

To move your 2FA from one device to another

From the 2-Factor Authentication section, disable each of the actions that are enabled for 2FA. This will require entering a 2FA-generated code from your old device.

If you have lost your old device, you need to scan your previously generated barcode or input the generated key (the backup) on your new device. This will allow you to access your account from the new device.

Once each action is disabled, press 'Setup New 2FA' and simply follow the instructions on your new device to enable 2FA.
