How do I get to the challenges without sharing personal information?

Learn how to complete challenges or Cogs without sharing personal information, and how to use example or made‑up details if you feel unsure or uncomfortable.

You may be asked to enter information when you start a challenge or work through a Cog. This can sometimes feel personal, and it is normal to be cautious about what you share.

The key thing to know is that you do not need to share real personal information to access challenges or benefit from Cognician’s Copilot programs.

What you need to know

  • Personal information is not required to complete challenges or Cogs

  • Any information you enter is used only to tailor examples to situations you may face

  • You can use dummy or hypothetical information and still complete the challenge

  • Your progress will not be blocked if you choose not to share real details

If you feel unsure or uncomfortable at any point, you are free to use made‑up information.

Steps to take

1. Use hypothetical or example information

You can enter fictional details instead of real ones.

  • Use a made‑up role, team, or situation

  • Think of a general challenge you might face in your line of work

  • Answer questions as if they apply to a hypothetical scenario

This still allows you to reflect, practise, and learn.

2. Keep your responses general

If a question feels too specific, keep your answer broad.

  • Focus on the type of challenge, not the details

  • Avoid names, numbers, or identifying information

  • Describe situations at a high level

This is enough to continue with the challenge or Cog.

3. Continue with the challenge or Cog

Once you have entered your responses, you can move forward as normal.

  • You will still see all the content

  • You will still complete the challenge or Cog

  • You will still gain value from the learning experience

There is no penalty for using hypothetical information.

Helpful to know

  • Cognician’s Copilot programs are designed to support learning and reflection

  • You are always in control of what you choose to share

  • Using fictional examples is a valid and accepted way to work through a challenge or Cog

If you are ever unsure, choose the option that feels most comfortable to you and continue.
