Components

The Components View allows you to search, add, edit, and remove components, while displaying details such as component type, version, name and state. This view also contains the Audit which logs all components.

This view allows you to search, add, edit, and remove components, while displaying details such as component type, version, name and state. This view also contains the Audit which logs all components.

Search and Filter

  • Use the Search Field in the top left to look up a specific component. The list will only show components which contain the entered name.

  • Use the Dropdown Field in the top left to filter the components by type (e.g. DTR, EDC).

  • Use the Sort Feature in the header to sort the components in an ascending or descending order. When using this feature, the affected column header is highlighted.

  • Select Reset to remove all search queries and filters.

States of Components

The column Status displays the state of each component.

Description

OK

The component has been set up correctly and is working. No errors are present

Sleeping

A component may need to sleep to limit resource usage or implement rate-limiting, ensuring system stability and compliance with API usage policies.

Waking Up

If a component is "sleeping" and is to be used, it is first set to waking-up mode. Afterwards it is set to working mode (OK state).

Add a Component

Selecting Add component will display a dialog to set up a new component.

You can add the following component types:

  • Eclipse Dataspace Connector (EDC) - Serves as a middleware that ensures secure, standardized, and controlled data sharing across different partners. For example, see Add an Eclipse Dataspace Connector.

  • Digital Twin Registry (DTR) - Digital twins are digital representations of physical products, systems, or assets. In Catena-X, these digital twins are crucial for enabling data-driven collaboration across the automotive value chain. For example, see Add a Digital Twin Registry (DTR).

  • Submodel Service - A submodel is a modular piece of a digital twin that represents a specific aspect or function of the physical asset. For example, in the case of a car, there might be submodels for the engine, battery, braking system, or maintenance history. For example, see Add a Submodel Service.

More Options for Components

  • To edit a component, select the Options Menu and select Edit. This will display the edit dialog.

  • To remove a component, select the Options Menu and select Remove. Confirm the removal.

  • To register an EDC, select the Options Menu and select Registration in Portal.

NOTICE - Risk of Data Loss

Removing an item cannot be undone. Before removing, make sure the item is not in use.

Show Component Details

To show detailed information about a component, select the desired component from the list.

Depending on which component type has been selected, the menu contains further entries.
