What happens to my bets if a match is canceled or not completed?

Learn what happens to your bets if a match is canceled or is not completed. See what sports these rules apply to and where to find the full rules.

Updated this week

Cloudbet follows specific settlement rules for events that are canceled or left incomplete.

General rules

The following rules only apply to: Football, basketball, baseball, cricket, esports, and American football.

If a match is canceled

Status

What happens

The match is not rescheduled by the end of the next full day

All bets on the event are void, and your stake is automatically refunded.

The match is rescheduled and completed within that time

Your bet will remain valid and settle based on the final result.

If a match is not completed

If a match starts but is abandoned and not completed by the end of the next full day:

  • Bets on markets not yet determined are void and refunded.

  • Bets on markets that have already been settled will still stand based on the official result.

Tennis (Money line / winner bets)

If the match is canceled before it starts

The same rules as above apply — bets are void and refunded.

If a player retires or forfeits during the match

Settlement depends on how much was played:

What happened

What happens to your bet

No sets completed when the player retired

Bet is voided, and your take refunded.

At least 1 set completed when the player retired

Bet stands; the retired player is deemed the loser.

For example, the score is 1–0 in sets when a player retires. The match is considered complete, and the retiring player loses.

Outright bets (all sports)

Outrights (e.g., "Team to win the tournament", "Player to reach the final") remain valid—unless the entire tournament or competition is canceled or not completed within 24 hours of its scheduled end date.
