If you lost your blockchain key file and can’t find it or you forgot the blockchain key password and cannot remember it, then to solve the situation follow this procedure:
1. Add a new blockchain key to your account
You can add a new blockchain key to your account by following this guide.
Warning
Make sure that this time you create a backup copy of the new key. Write down its password in a safe place.
2. Get your new blockchain key approved
Once you complete the process of adding the new blockchain key, ask a coworker with a CargoX account and an active blockchain key (along with proper permissions) to approve your newly added blockchain key.

If you are the only person under your company who has had an active blockchain key, we can help you activate your new blockchain key, but for your own protection you need to send an email to support@cargox.io from an email registered with your CargoX account, and request activation of your new blockchain key. The email should also include:
- The public address of your new blockchain key (in the following format: 0xXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX)
- Your company name (as registered in the CargoX Platform)
- Your company’s CargoX ID (you can find your CargoX ID number by following the instructions here.)
After we examine the information, we will approve your new blockchain key for you.

You will receive an email notification when your new key is approved.

Also, please note that your blockchain key is your own digital signature, and you should never share that file or its encryption password with anyone.
