Can I use my Interrail/Eurail pass to travel within my country of residence?

Written by Hebe

An Interrail/Eurail Global pass is designed for international travel, so you can't use it for holidays within your own country. However, it does cover limited domestic travel to help you get to and from the border:

You can use your pass for your outbound journey (on the day you leave your country) and your inbound journey (on the day you return). This means if you need to travel from your home city to your international departure point, that's covered.

Example: If you live in Edinburgh and your first international leg is London to Paris, you can use your pass to travel Edinburgh → London → Paris, all on the same travel day. The Edinburgh–London leg counts as your outbound domestic journey, so no separate ticket is needed.
