πŸ“Š Reports Overview: Metrics Explained

Introduction

The Reports section in Bookboost gives hoteliers a centralised view of how their guest communications are performing across all channels and products. Whether you want to understand how many conversations your team handled, how your campaigns are converting, or how many guests you're actively reaching, the Reports section is your starting point. πŸ“ˆ

This article covers the Reports Overview screen β€” what it is, how to navigate it, and what the Campaigns and Reach sub-sections are designed to tell you.

Main Concept

The Reports section is divided into several dedicated sub-sections, each focused on a specific area of your Bookboost activity. Together they give you a full picture of both your operational performance (how your team is handling guest conversations) and your marketing performance (how your campaigns are engaging guests).

The key sub-sections are:

  • Marketing Dashboard β€” campaign KPIs and subscriber stats for broadcast campaigns

  • Campaigns β€” delivery performance metrics across all campaigns and channels

  • Reach β€” a breakdown of how contactable your guest database is across communication channels

Use Cases

  • Getting a quick snapshot of overall performance without diving into individual sub-reports

  • Understanding what percentage of your guest database is actually contactable

  • Identifying delivery failures or bounces across campaigns

  • Navigating to the right sub-report for deeper analysis

  • Comparing activity across date ranges or properties at a glance

Configuration and Setup

How to Access the Reports Section

  1. Log in to Bookboost and navigate to Reports in the left-hand menu.

  2. Use the date range selector at the top to filter data by a specific time period.

  3. If your account manages multiple properties, use the property selector to filter by location.

  4. Select the relevant sub-section from the left menu to view detailed data.

Understanding the Metrics

πŸ“‘ Reach Report

image

The Reach report shows how contactable your guest database is across communication channels β€” in other words, how many of your guest profiles have valid contact details that Bookboost can actually send messages to. All data is filtered by the selected date range.

The Reachability graph at the bottom shows how your contactable audience has trended over time, with a Day / Week / Month toggle and breakdowns for Guests, Has phone, Has email, Has any, and Has both. πŸ“Š

⚠️ Why this matters: A high proportion of OTA emails means you have limited ability to contact guests directly outside of that OTA's platform. Use this report to identify gaps in your guest data collection strategy.

πŸ“£ Campaigns Report

The Campaigns report shows the delivery performance of all your campaigns across every channel. It has two tabs: Performance (aggregate delivery stats) and Campaigns (per-campaign breakdown).

The report also splits sent and failed messages by channel β€” WhatsApp, SMS, Email, and Messenger β€” so you can identify if a specific channel is underperforming.

The Campaign Usage graph at the bottom shows Sent vs. Failed message volume over time, with a Day / Week / Month toggle. πŸ“Š

⚠️ Why this matters: A high hard bounce rate damages your sender reputation and can affect email deliverability across all future sends. Monitor this regularly, especially if your guest database is largely sourced from OTAs where email quality is inconsistent.

Known Issues & Limitations

  1. Sub-section metrics are not cross-comparable in a single view β€” each sub-section reports on its own data set. There is no single unified view that combines messaging, campaign, and task metrics in one table.

  2. Data reflects Bookboost activity only β€” reports do not include data from your PMS or other external systems unless those systems are integrated with Bookboost.

  3. OTA email reachability β€” OTA-generated email addresses (e.g. anonymised Booking.com addresses) count as reachable by email but may have limited deliverability outside that OTA's environment.

  4. Date range applies per session β€” the selected date range resets when you navigate away. Set it again each time you open a report.

Conclusion

The Reports section is your command centre for understanding how Bookboost is performing across your hotel's guest communications. The Reach report tells you how contactable your database is β€” critical for understanding the ceiling of your campaign reach. The Campaigns report tells you how well your messages are actually getting through. Together, they give you the data to both improve your guest data quality and optimise your campaign delivery. πŸ“¬
