SMS is the simplest channel to budget for, because there is one rate and it does not change by country or message type.
€0.11 per SMS sent. A property sending 100 messages in a month is charged €11.
Counting your messages
Your SMS volume comes from two places, and you need both.
Inbox: Messaging > Inbox Reports > Overview.
Campaigns: Campaigns > Campaign Reports > Campaigns.
Add the two together and multiply by €0.11.
Count attempted messages, not delivered ones. Failed messages are charged too. In the campaign report above, the number to use is 31, not 17. Taking the delivered figure will understate your bill every time.
Estimating cost per room
Read the caveat before the numbers. The figures below are averages taken from Bookboost clients between July 2024 and June 2025. They are a starting point for a budget conversation, not a quote. Your actual cost depends on your occupancy, how often you run campaigns, and whether your guests are reachable on SMS at all. Two properties of the same size can sit in different bands.
With that said, four patterns show up consistently.
Reactive use only, around €0.10 to €0.20 per room. No campaigns, occasional confirmations and manual replies. Typical where SMS is not how guests expect to be contacted.
Limited campaign use, around €0.40 per room. SMS appears in campaigns rarely, and WhatsApp carries most of the journey.
Moderate campaign use, around €0.80 to €0.90 per room. Campaigns are active, but WhatsApp is still often preferred.
SMS as the primary channel, around €1.30 to €1.60 per room. Full journeys and campaigns run over SMS. Typical in regions where SMS is how guests expect to be contacted.
What this does not do
No cap and no alert. Nothing stops sending or warns you when a campaign is about to be expensive. Check the audience size before you publish a large Broadcast.
Failed sends are still billed. Cleaning up bad phone numbers reduces cost as well as noise.
Per-room figures are averages, not commitments. They describe what other properties spent in a past 12-month period. They are not a rate card and nothing is guaranteed by them.
What to do next
WhatsApp is priced differently and needs its own estimate: see Estimating WhatsApp costs. For how these charges reach your invoice, see How Bookboost billing works.
