Sometimes you’ll need to book in medication that isn’t barcoded by your usual pharmacy—for example, when a resident brings their own, it is collected from another pharmacy, or the resident returns from hospital with new medication.

To book in non-bar coded medication follow this process:

1. Log into the Atlas device and select the Book in stock icon.

2. Select add item at the top of the screen

3. Fill in the required fields, Including Resident, Item name, Amount and Reason for change

The medication you are adding must be a medication the resident already has, If it is a new drug for the resident please click here to find out more: How To Add A New Medication To Atlas eMAR

Alternatively, medication can be booked in directly from the residents medication screen.

1. Go to the residents' icon on the main homepage, select the resident in question and click on the medication bar at the top of the screen.

2. Click on the medication required for booking in and select the details icon.

3. There are four figures shown towards the bottom of the screen, the top left of these is the current stock level for this medication. Click in stock.

4. This will display the stock details screen.

Click book in, here you will add the quantity of stock

5.Select from the list where the stock came from them select confirm the figure will then be added to the stock quantity.

Tips

  • Fridge lines should be stored appropriately as a matter of urgency.

  • Controlled drugs should also be recorded in the CD Register and stored in the appropriate place.

  • A monthly stock take of all medication is recommend before the monthly medication is received to ensure the correct figures on the Atlas device before booking in any medication.
