How to Add a New GP/Surgery

This helpfile will walk you through the process of how to add a new GP/Practice. To complete this information, we first need the full address of the practice as well as a some GP’s names. Check on Google search the details shared by Care home match information online.

1. Log into CAPA & go to Search>Extended Search

2. Go to Practice>Search to see if the Practice is already on CAPA. If the surgery is already on the list, all you need to do is select that practice to link the GP. However if the practice you are after is not on the list, you will need to press the add button. This will prompt you to fill out the following information:

  • Name of practice

  • Full address details

  • Telephone number

Once done, press finish and it will save the the new surgery you have added

4. To link Prescribers to the GP surgery go to Search>extended search Prescriber and Press add.

5. This screen will prompt you to add the GP's first name and surname, press next and the system will prompt you to search for the practice you wish to link to the newly added doctor to. Repeat if you have more than one GP to link the the GP surgery.

Now you and the care home will be able to see the new GP surgery on the drop down list, and they can now proceed to link the details to a residents profile through atlas central.
