Certain datasets can be benefit from 3D view. To enable this, click the 'View Map in 3D' icon in the top right-hand side of the map interface, which is used to toggle between 2D and 3D views.
By default, many datasets won't assign a height attribute. You can set this up by navigating to Layers, toggling Height and then selecting the three dots. Now you can define the attribute which height is based on, and set the scale. In this example, we'd like to visualise in 3D the total domestic gas consumption at LSOA polygon level using the latest DESNZ statistics.
Note: height will only appear for datasets where height attributes can be assigned. Height is not an attribute for point and line datasets.

By toggling 3D view and setting the height attribute to total consumption, we can more easily see the scale of which certain areas are using more gas:
This can be useful for use cases such as identifying areas to target for certain projects.
