Overview page

The Companies section of your A-INSIGHTS portal is where you’ll find an overview of all companies in your selection.

All companies in your selection are displayed in a table containing summary information. The table is interactive and can change form depending on the selections and filters you apply.

Selections

In the Selections window, you can choose which year to display: The most recent year available per company, or any year of your liking. In addition, you can filter your list of companies based on the filter options:

  • Performance: Ability to filter companies based on the Performance Indicator

  • Companies: Ability to filter on specific companies

  • Countries: Ability to filter on companies that are based in specific countries

Filing progress

You can also make use of the filing progress chart to choose which year to display, by clicking on any year in the chart. If you have clicked on a year in the chart, that year will turn orange and the table will be filtered on all companies with figures for the year you have selected. The filing progress widget shows you the percentage and number of companies that have figures available per year. This allows you to easily track who has already filed their figures for the most recent year, and who might still be missing.

Individual company pages

Every company in your selection has its own performance profile, consisting of several sections (the accessibility of these sections can depend on your subscription).

Highlights

In the ‘Highlights’ section, you’ll find company characteristics (such as entity, country, website, industry) as well as the most important performance KPIs on net sales, profitability, return, financial health, cashflow and investments.

On the ‘Highlights’ page, you can also make comparisons with other companies. This can be done in two places: The table with the Performance KPIs, and the graphs on the company detail pages:

On the ‘Highlights’ section, you’ll also see an element called ‘Notes on interpretation of financial statements’. Here, we outline the balance sheet dates, the number of days in the book year, and whether the company has consolidated or individual numbers. This helps you in interpreting the data, and allows you to spot inconsistencies right away (e.g. if a company has changed its book year)

News

In the ‘News’ section, you’ll find all of the news articles that we crawled for the company in question. By default, this is sorted on the most recent news that has come in. You can however also look for specific keywords, or articles with certain tags.

Sustainability

In the sustainability section, you will find any sustainability-related news, as well as any CSR reports that are available for that particular company.

Financial KPI detail pages

The following sections provide more detail on the financial KPIs:

  • Net sales: Net sales developments, including net sales per FTE and net sales splits

  • Profitability: Breakdown of most important profitability and cost metrics over time

  • Returns: Return metrics like RoA and ROCE, as well as asset turnover

  • Investments: Investment levels over time, and overview of assets to see what companies are investing in

  • Financial Health: Overview of the most important financial health indicators

  • Working capital: Overview of working capital, current assets and liabilities, and cash conversion cycle including underlying elements

These sections also contain news items that are related to each of the categories, and can include performance insights too.

Group structure

In the ‘Group structure’ section, you can see an overview of how the company is structured (if available), which entity is analyzed (in orange), and any including daughter entities:

Key Ratios

The ‘Key Ratios’ section shows an overview of all performance KPIs over time.

Reports

Finally, in the ‘Reports’ section, you’ll find the original annual statements, as well as any other documents, like the in-depth company analysis in case you have purchased one.

Export

In case you would like to export (some of) the company profile, you can do so by clicking the ‘Export’ button on the top right of each company profile. A popup window will open, where you can select what you would like to export. We offer three types of exports: PDF, PowerPoint, and Excel. The PDF export is a summary of the sections in the company profile in one PDF document. You can select which sections to include, as well as the year for which you would like to see the Performance KPIs table from the ‘Highlights’ page.

The PowerPoint option works in similar fashion, though is slightly narrower in scope: You can only export the graphs. Once again, you can select which ones you would like to include.

Finally, the Excel export provides an overview of the ‘Key ratios’ section, summarized into one Excel. If you would like to export data of multiple companies into Excel, please refer to the dedicated Data export section in the A-INSIGHTS portal.
