Overview page

The Companies section of your A-INSIGHTS portal is where you’ll find an overview of all companies in your selection.

All companies in your selection are displayed in a table containing summary information. The table is interactive and can change form depending on the selections and filters you apply.

Filters & Year

At the top of the page, you can filter companies based on several fields:

  • Country

  • Lists

  • Net sales (by specifying a range of values)

  • % EBIT (by specifying a range of values)

  • % EBITDA (by specifying a range of values)

  • Properties (filter companies based on whether they have a company analysis and/or earnings updates available)

At the top right, you can choose which year to display: The most recent year available per company, or any year of your liking.

You can also customize your table by making use of the 'Columns' button at the top right:

Individual company pages

Every company in your selection has its own page, built up around three sections:

  • Profile: What does this company do?

  • Performance: How well does this company perform?

  • Pulse: What are the latest developments on this company?

On the overview page, you'll find a summary of each of these sections - from here, you can dive deeper by clicking on any of the sections.

Profile

The Profile section answers what the company in question does. You'll find a description of the company, its activities, strategy, and sustainability initiatives and goals. In addition, you'll see an overview of products and an interactive map with company locations. These elements are generated using artificial intelligence based on the company website.

Performance

The Performance section tells you about the financial performance of a company. There are several sections:

Performance Highlights

In Performance Highlights, you see a summary of the core financial ratios of the company in question. Clicking on 'View all' at the top right will open up a more detailed overview of the key ratios, as well as the ability to export this overview to Excel.

Performance Comparison

In the Performance Comparison, you can see how the company lines up against the other companies in your selection.

The Performance Comparison contains several topics, along with a color-coded classification into a certain bucket.

Companies are assigned to one of five buckets based on their performance relative to the other companies. These buckets correspond to quantile ranges, with each company being placed in a bucket according to its position within the overall performance distribution.

Clicking on a bucket or range of buckets opens up a new window, in which you can see the full breakdown versus the other companies.

Earnings Updates (if available)

Earnings updates are only available for publicly traded companies. These earnings updates are events for investors in the company, in which companies outline financial performance over a certain period, usually annually, semi-annually or quarterly.

This update is given in a call to investors, in which analysts that follow the stock can ask questions in a Q&A setting as well. These updates are therefore a great source of market intelligence, as companies give updates on key financial metrics, performance, strategic initiatives and investments.

In the earnings updates section, you can listen to the call, read the transcript, and view any documents that were part of the update, such as the management presentation and the filing containing all the financial KPIs.

Deep dives

In the deep dives, you'll find a detailed breakdown of financial performance, along with insights and related news articles on the topic. Deep dives are available for the following topics:

  • Growth

  • Profit & Costs

  • Financial health

  • Staff ratios

  • Volumes (if applicable)

Each topic has a set of graphs, which you can share or export using the button in the top right corner.

Pulse

In Pulse, you can find all the latest developments of a company displayed on an interactive timeline. The timeline is sorted chronologically, with the most recent updates at the top.

The page is interactive, meaning you can:

  • Expand and collapse years and months by clicking on the year or month in question. This allows you to quickly navigate to periods of interest

  • Filter page on content type and tags, for example filter out documents (e.g. annual reports, CSR reports), events (such as earnings updates), financials, and news articles. By selecting tags, you can filter on topics of interest

Export

In case you would like to export (some of) the company profile, you can do so by clicking the ‘Export’ button on the top right of each company profile. A popup window will open, where you can select what you would like to export. We offer two types of exports: PDF and Excel. The PDF export is a summary of the sections in the company profile in one PDF document. You can select which sections to include, as well as the year for which you would like to see performance comparisons.

The Excel export provides an overview of the ‘Key ratios’ section, summarized into one Excel. If you would like to export data of multiple companies into Excel, please refer to the dedicated Data export section in the A-INSIGHTS portal.
