Ambient Products:

Phoenix employs temperature-controlled vehicles for the final mile delivery (van to customer). These vehicles undergo validation through Phoenix Medical Suppliers, featuring various sizes and makes of vans, primarily Mercedes Sprinters presently. The validation process includes assessments with full, half, and empty loads, along with re-qualification and mapping of real-world distribution scenarios. All confirmed vehicles meet the required standards. To bolster their usage, Phoenix has implemented a monitoring system equipped with built-in alarms, alerting the relevant depot to any issues with temperature monitoring probes within the vehicles. This system also facilitates reporting to a Responsible Person (RP), enabling the suspension of delivery routes if needed. Although providing delivery readings is not standard practice, the relevant depot monitors this information through the aforementioned process.

Cold Chain:

Products within the cold chain for final mile delivery are transported using Olivio boxes, serving as passive cold storage solutions. These boxes undergo comprehensive validation both before and after use, involving chamber testing and real-world scenario assessments. Phoenix maintains a validation master plan, confirming the suitability of both temperature-controlled vans and Olivio boxes for various temperature extremes and seasonal variations.

A set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is in place for both management and local drivers to enhance their understanding of delivery processes and temperature management. The vehicles and Olivio units undergo regular audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with both Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) regulations for cold chain transportation.

While the standard practice does not include sharing delivery readings, the relevant depot monitors this information through the established process.
