In order to use SecureClient with a proxy server you will need to configure the proxy and/or firewall to not require authentication for communications to https://eal.surpass.com (Port 443).

This URL should also be added to the safe list of any firewalls.

Proxies should also be configured to allow ASMX, ASPX and ZIP file types.

Please ensure the firewall allows access to the following URLs:

Solving / Checking Proxy Configuration

To check if your LAN connections go through a proxy server, open up Internet Explorer and follow these steps > Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings > If the 'Use a proxy server for your LAN' box is ticked, this means all network connections go through this proxy server. This may be preventing the SecureClient from accessing Surpass 12 and allowing the exam to start.

Enter proxy details in proxy.xml:

(C:\Users\Public\Surpass\SecureClient\configfiles\proxy.xml)

If your proxy server requires authentication, you should enter the username between <user></user> and the password between <password></password>.

If you are not sure which proxy settings to use, you can check the settings in Internet Explorer follow these steps: Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings.
