To enhance our security protocols, we are introducing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to provide an extra layer of protection for our systems and data.

This will require all users to verify their identity through multiple methods, ensuring stronger defence against unauthorised access.

You will be prompted to set up or verify your identity using the MFA security feature when attempting to access any EAL application.

How to Set Up Your MFA

Step 1: Initial Login

  1. Log in to EAL Connect or any EAL application.

  2. Enter your username and click Next.

  3. Enter your password and click Verify.

Authentication Method

Step 2: Set Up Your Verification Method

You’ll now be asked to choose a verification method. This requires downloading an authenticator app on your mobile device.

We support the following apps:

  • Google Authenticator

  • Microsoft Authenticator

Already using Okta Verify? Skip ahead to the Okta Setup section below.

Option 1: Google or Microsoft Authenticator

  1. Download the app:

    • From the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android), search for:

      • Google Authenticator or

      • Microsoft Authenticator

  2. Once installed, return to the setup screen and click “Set Up” under your chosen method.

  3. Open the app and tap the plus (+) icon or “Add account.”

  4. Choose “Scan a QR code.”

  5. Use your phone to scan the QR code displayed on your computer screen.

  6. Once scanned, click “Next” to continue.

  7. Follow the in-app instructions to complete the setup process.

Option 2: Okta Verify (for existing users)

If you are already using Okta Verify, you can continue with that method.

  1. On the setup screen, click “Set Up” under Okta Verify.

  2. Select your device type (iPhone or Android), then click Next.

  3. Open the Okta Verify app on your phone.

  4. Tap “Add Account”, then scan the QR code shown on your screen.

  5. Follow the in-app instructions to complete the setup process.

✅ You’re All Set!

Once setup is complete, you’ll be asked to use your chosen app to verify your identity each time you log in, keeping your account secure with a second layer of authentication.
