What is "Close Only" Mode?
Some Financial Instruments may be marked with an asterisk (*) in the specification table. This means that they are quoted in close only mode.
How Does Close Only Mode Work?
When an instrument is in Close Only mode:
You cannot open new positions on that instrument.
You can only close positions that were opened previously.
Why Is an Instrument in Close Only Mode?
Close Only mode is typically applied when:
an instrument is being gradually withdrawn from our offer; or
trading on the instrument is being restricted.
Will I Still See the Instrument in Close Only Mode on the Platform?
If an instrument is in this mode it will not be visible on the platform for clients who did not previously have an open position on that instrument. If you have an open position, the instrument will remain visible so that you can close it.
What Should I Do If I Have an Issue with Close Only Mode?
Check whether the issue occurs on both the mobile app and the web platform.
Check whether the issue affects only this instrument or other instruments as well.
If the issue occurs across both platforms and affects all instruments, please request to be connected with a live agent through our support channels.
