What documents are required to open an account?

Written by Anna Niedobova
Updated this week

To activate an investment account, identity documents are required, such as a passport, an identity card and a driving license. You can also send another proof of your address, if it was issued within the last 90 days. Acceptable documents are: a statement from the bank, a utility bill (gas, electricity, water), a telephone bill (not mobile), a broadband internet bill, council tax bill, personal tax statement and Full Tenancy Agreement with a Real Estate agency (signed by Landlord and Tenant).

Please kindly note that we do not accept screenshots or scans. Proof of address must be provided as either a photo of a physically delivered document or an original online-generated PDF. For proof of identity, only a direct photo is acceptable.

Once all documents have been verified, your investment account will be activated.

If you have any questions regarding the required documents, please contact us at uksales@xtb.com.
