Sana Home brings your tasks, company announcements, important dates, and recent meetings together in one place, using Workday as the source of truth. From Sana Home you can review and approve supported Workday tasks, start a conversation with Sana, and move back to Workday in one click.
Sana Home is available automatically in your Sana workspace. What you see on it depends on your organization's Workday configuration and the features enabled for your workspace.

Getting to Sana Home
Land on Sana Home when you log in to Workday
Your organization can configure Workday to open Sana Home automatically when you log in. If this isn't configured for you, Workday continues to open the traditional Workday home page, and you can still open Sana Home at any time.
Open Sana from Workday
Select Ask Sana in the header of the Workday home page to start a conversation with Sana. The button appears automatically for everyone who has access to Sana, with no extra configuration, and replaces the Workday agent chat icon. Users without access to Sana continue to see the standard Workday agent chat icon.
Go back to Workday from Sana
Select Workday on Sana Home to open the traditional Workday home page in the same browser tab. On desktop it's in the page header; on mobile it's in the top bar.
Tasks
The Tasks widget
The Tasks widget on Sana Home shows your top 5 task items. Workday tasks appear first, followed by tasks from Sana agents. Select a task to open it, or open the Tasks page to see everything.
The Tasks page
The Tasks page shows all your Workday My Tasks items alongside tasks assigned by Sana agents. On the Tasks page you can:
Filter by source. Select Filter tasks and, under From, choose Workday or a specific Sana agent.
Work through similar tasks together. Tasks of the same type are grouped so you can review and action them in one go.
Review task details in Sana. High-frequency Workday business process tasks open directly in Sana.
Open any task in Workday. Every Workday task links to its detailed view in Workday.
Review and approve Workday tasks in Sana
For supported Workday tasks, you can review and approve without leaving Sana:
Open the Tasks page.
Select the Workday task you want to review. The task opens inside Sana.
Review the details.
Use the action buttons in the task view to complete the step, for example to approve it.
You can use the chat in the task view to ask questions and get more context about the task. The chat can't approve or complete the task for you: always use the action buttons in the task view.
Sana supports approval steps in a selected set of Workday business processes. If a task isn't supported in Sana, open it in Workday to complete it. Your Workday administrator can find the list of supported business processes in the Workday release note Sana Home Unified Experience (2026R2).
Announcements
The Announcements widget shows the company communications your organization has configured for the Workday home page. Which announcements you see depends on your organization's existing Workday configuration.
Announcements that contain an embedded video aren't supported on Sana Home and won't be displayed.
Important dates
The Important dates widget helps you keep track of upcoming events. Depending on your role and your organization's Workday configuration, it can show:
For managers: direct reports' work anniversaries, birthdays, and time off, plus holidays.
For all workers: holidays.
Available connectors
The Available connectors widget suggests third-party connectors you haven't connected yet, so you can enable them directly from Sana Home with Connect. It's available with Sana Enterprise and appears in place of Announcements when there are no announcements to show or when Announcements is turned off.
Recent meetings
The Recent meetings widget lists your most recent meetings with their date, time, and attendees. Select a meeting to open its summary and action items. This widget appears when Sana Enterprise and the Meeting Agent are enabled for your workspace. If you haven't set up the Meeting Agent yet, the widget offers to set it up.
For Workday administrators
Sana Home is available automatically in your Sana workspace. Two things are configured in Workday: routing users to Sana Home when they log in, and showing the Announcements and Important dates widgets.
Route users to Sana Home when they log in
Workday opens Sana Home after login for users who are both provisioned to Sana through the User Provisioning Workspace and assigned to the View: Default Sana as Home security domain (in the People Experience functional area).
Make sure your organization has provisioned access to Sana Core or Sana Enterprise and configured the users in your tenant.
Navigate to the View: Default Sana as Home security domain.
From the related actions menu, create the domain security policy and add the security groups you want to target.
Run the Activate Pending Security Policy Changes task.
Log in as a user assigned to the domain and check that Workday opens Sana Home.
Users who aren't assigned to the domain continue to land on the traditional Workday home page.
Show Announcements and Important dates
Open the Home Page Configuration task in the System Admin hub.
Enable Announcements and Important Dates for the Home page.
To choose which events appear in Important dates, select Edit next to the Important Dates options.
Sana Home shows the announcements you publish to the Home dashboard with the Configure Announcements task. Sana Home displays announcement images in a 14:15 preview that resizes with the browser, so we recommend standard 16:9 images without embedded text: they render cleanly in both shapes.
Session timeouts
Workday and Sana session timeouts aren't synchronized. Sana's timeout is set separately, in Sana under Settings › Security › Custom session timeout. We recommend setting the same duration in both so users get a consistent experience.
Release timing
The Workday-side settings in this section ship with Workday 2026R2. They reach preview tenants on October 9, 2026 and production tenants on October 30, 2026.
Known limitations
Task details in non-production tenants. In non-production tenants whose domain isn't myworkday.com, Workday task details in Sana work only in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, and won't display if your organization blocks third-party cookies in those browsers. You can still see the tasks in Sana, but you'll need to open and action them in Workday.
Embedded videos. Announcements with embedded videos aren't displayed on Sana Home.
Language and accessibility. Sana Home is currently available in English only and has limited accessibility support.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Workday still open the traditional home page when I log in?
Your account hasn't been set up to land on Sana Home. Your Workday administrator controls this through the View: Default Sana as Home security domain. You can still open Sana Home at any time, or select Ask Sana in the Workday header.
Why can't I see Announcements or Important dates?
Your Workday administrator needs to enable them in the Home Page Configuration task.
Why do I have to open some tasks in Workday?
Sana supports approval steps in a selected set of Workday business processes. Any other task opens in Workday, where you can complete it as usual.
Why can't I see Available connectors or Recent meetings?
Both require Sana Enterprise, and Recent meetings also requires the Meeting Agent. Available connectors only appears when there are no announcements to show.
