Your maintenance visit ensures your alarm, CCTV, or fire system continues to perform safely and reliably. Here’s what to expect when your Wilson Alarms engineer arrives.

🕒 1. Arrival & Identification

  • Your engineer will arrive within your confirmed morning (8:30–1:00) or afternoon (1:00–5:00) time slot.

  • They will always:

    • Arrive in a Wilson Alarms–branded vehicle

    • Wear a company uniform and ID badge

    • Introduce themselves and confirm the purpose of the visit

If you’re ever unsure about an engineer’s identity, call us on 0116 245 3030 before granting access.

🧰 2. System Inspection

The engineer will perform a full inspection of your system, including:

  • Control panel and keypad checks

  • Battery condition tests (panel and devices)

  • Communication pathway verification (e.g. broadband, GSM, or phone line)

  • Activation tests on detectors, sensors, sounders, and signalling devices

  • Visual inspection of wiring, devices, and any visible damage or tampering

🔔 3. System Testing

  • We will perform a test activation of your system to verify operation.

  • For monitored systems, our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) will be informed that testing is in progress so no Police or Fire attendance is triggered.

  • Once testing is complete, your system will be restored to normal service.

🧾 4. Reporting & Recommendations

  • Your engineer will update your service record and note any defects or recommendations.

  • If anything requires repair or upgrade, you’ll receive a Defect Quote outlining costs for remedial works.

  • These works are optional but strongly recommended to keep your system compliant and reliable.

💳 5. Sign-Off & Invoice

  • You’ll be asked to sign the digital maintenance report confirming the visit.

  • If any chargeable work was completed, an invoice will be sent afterwards (due within 7 days).

  • Direct Debit customers – payment will be collected automatically.

🧼 6. Before the Engineer Arrives

To help us work efficiently, please:

  • Ensure the control panel and devices are accessible.

  • Have keyholder or site representative details ready for confirmation.

  • Inform anyone onsite that a system test will take place (sirens may sound briefly).

✅ Summary

  • Branded engineer attends within your chosen time slot.

  • Full system inspection and test performed.

  • Report provided and any remedial works quoted.

  • System restored, and you remain fully protected.
