Police response means your monitored intruder alarm system is directly linked to the Police via our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). If your alarm is triggered and confirmed, the ARC can notify the Police, who may then attend your property.
π‘ How It Works
Your alarm activates.
The signal is sent to the ARC.
The ARC checks and confirms if the activation looks genuine (via sequential confirmation, video verification, or dual-path signalling).
If confirmed, the ARC uses your Unique Reference Number (URN) to request Police attendance.
The Police decide whether to dispatch officers.
π What You Need for Police Response
A monitored intruder alarm system installed and maintained by an NSI/SSAIB-approved company (like Wilson Alarms).
A valid URN (Unique Reference Number) registered with the Police for your site.
At least two nominated keyholders who can attend if the Police require access.
β οΈ False Alarms β Important Rules
The Police treat false alarms very seriously.
If your system generates two false alarm activations within a rolling 12-month period, your Police response may be downgraded or withdrawn.
Once downgraded, the Police will not attend automatically β only if there is direct evidence of a crime.
π This is why regular servicing is vital. Police-monitored alarms require two maintenance visits per year to remain compliant and reliable. Routine maintenance significantly reduces the risk of false alarms.
β Benefits of Police Response
Direct link to the Police for the highest level of protection.
Fast response to confirmed intrusions.
Peace of mind for homeowners and businesses.
Meets insurance requirements for high-value or commercial properties.
