Tip Income Tax in Latvia

As of August 1, 2025, tip income in Latvia ("tējas nauda") is subject to Personal Income Tax (IIN) at a rate of 25.5%, in accordance with Latvian tax regulations and guidance from the State Revenue Service (VID).

This is detailed on page 12 of their official guidance under the section "With Personal Income Tax Applicable Incomes" ("Ar iedzīvotāju ienākuma nodokli neapliekamie ienākumi").

Tip income received through URocked is treated as taxable income under Latvian legislation.

This applies only to URocked members who receive tips in Latvia.

What This Means for URocked Members

To support compliance with Latvian tax requirements, Paynt manages the declaration and payment of applicable taxes on eligible tip earnings processed through the URocked platform.

This means:

  • Tip taxation and declaration are handled automatically by Paynt, ensuring compliance with Latvian tax regulations.

  • You do not need to manually declare eligible URocked tip income separately.

  • Tax deductions are processed before payouts are transferred to your registered bank account.

  • You can view your tip earnings and any tax deductions in the URocked app by opening Tip History and expanding individual transactions for a detailed breakdown.

Viewing Your Tip Earnings

Within the URocked app, you can view your total tip amounts received, any tax deductions applied, and your final payout amount, ensuring full transparency into your earnings.
