Room and Meeting page ownership and permissions explained

Introduction

You may want to assign your meetings to organize related content into Rooms.

There are 2 primary access settings for Rooms:

  • "Anyone can view and edit"

  • "Only invited people can view or edit"

This article explains the following:

Permissions can differ depending who the user is: Meeting Owner, Meeting Participant, Room Owner, Room Member.


When a Meeting is not assigned to a Room

When a Meeting is assigned to a Room

Permissions when "anyone can view and edit"

This is the default permissions setting and means that the given page has no restrictions on it — anyone on Unique is welcome to the content.

Permissions when "only invited people can view or edit"

This is the setting you want if you want to keep the page private or restricted to a subset of people who have access to the space. As soon as you select Only invited people can view or edit, the page will be locked down so that only you and the invited people can can view and edit it.

User Types

Meeting Owner

  • If a meeting was recorded with Unique, then the Meeting Owner is the user who is the Organizer of the calendar event.

  • If a meeting's recording was directly uploaded to a Room in unique.app, then the Meeting Owner is the user who uploaded the recording to the Room.

  • If a meeting's recording was uploaded to a Room via the Unique Mobile Recording App, then the Meeting Owner is the user who recorded the meeting with the app.

Meeting Participant

  • Users who spoke in the meeting.

Room Owner

  • User who created the Room.

Room Member

  • When Room's access setting is "anyone can view and edit", every user in the company is a Room Member.

  • When Room's access setting is "only invited people can view or edit", only invited users are Room Members.
