How does Huel prevent referral fraud?

Huel protects the Refer a Friend programme against gaming and fraud. Self-referrals, collusion, and broadcasting links can result in cancelled rewards and account closure.

Written by Jamie Forbes

We want our Huel Refer a Friend programme to be fair and rewarding for genuine Hueligans. That means protecting it against "gaming" — when people try to manipulate the system to gain rewards in ways that weren't intended.

What is gaming?

Gaming happens when individuals misuse a referral programme, such as:

  • Self-referrals and fake accounts: Creating multiple accounts to refer yourself

  • Collusion: Groups of people referring each other to artificially trigger rewards

  • Incentive misuse: Signing up repeatedly just to get welcome discounts

  • Broadcasting referral links: Posting links on public forums or coupon websites instead of sharing with genuine friends

Consequences of misuse

If Huel detects gaming or referral fraud, Huel reserves the right to:

  • Remove or cancel referral rewards

  • Restrict participation in the programme

  • Close accounts engaged in fraudulent activity

  • Enforce action in line with our Terms & Conditions

How to keep it fair

To keep the Huel Refer a Friend programme fair for everyone, please only share your referral link with genuine friends and family who are new to Huel.
