Refunds, Breaches & Account Changes

Cancelling, what “breached” means, disputing a decision, and closing your account.

Can I Cancel And Get A Refund After Buying A Challenge?

If you’re a consumer, you have a legal right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days — but only for as long as you haven’t started.

The moment you open your first demo trade, you’re asking us to begin the service straight away, the service is treated as fully delivered, and the right of withdrawal is lost.

After that point the Product Fee is non-refundable. In particular, there’s no refund if you end a Challenge early, don’t meet the Product Objectives, are terminated for good cause that’s down to you, or the account expires through inactivity. Business (entrepreneur) customers don’t have this statutory right of withdrawal.

To withdraw in time: email support@thetradingpit.com with a clear statement that you’re withdrawing, before you place your first trade (or use the withdrawal function on the website if available).

This doesn’t affect your mandatory statutory rights — for example a refund or price reduction if a Product has a genuine defect.

What About Chargebacks?

If you think a charge is wrong, contact support@thetradingpit.com first.

Don’t raise a chargeback with your bank or card provider on a legitimate charge: a chargeback that is fraudulent or malicious is a breach of contract.

We can stop the affected service immediately, claim damages, and it can lead to your account being terminated.

Breached, Terminated, Or Closed — What’s The Difference?

“My account is closed” can mean very different things. These three are not the same:

Term

What it means

Breached

Your trading account (a Challenge or Earning account) failed because you broke a rule or hit a drawdown limit. That trading account is disabled — but your Client Account (profile) stays open, and you can start a new Challenge.

Terminated

We end a Product Contract. Either side can end one with 7 days’ notice, and we can end it immediately for good cause (see below).

Closed

You close your entire Client Account — your whole Trading Pit profile. All your accounts and contracts then end.

Quick guide:

  • “my account failed after a trade” = breached·

  • “you ended my account” = terminated·

  • “I want to remove my whole profile” = closed.

What Does “Breached” Mean, And How Do I Check Why?

A breach means a trading account failed a rule — most often a drawdown limit, a prohibited practice, or a rule broken while reaching the Profit Target.

Your Client Account isn’t affected, and you can buy another Challenge. To see the exact reason, log in to your dashboard, open the account, and read the breach reason shown next to the account number.

Each product’s rules article explains its specific limits.

When Can My Account Be Terminated?

Either you or we can end a Product Contract at any time, without reason, with 7 days’ notice.

We can also end it immediately for good cause — for example: not meeting the access requirements, non-payment, breaking the trading rules, an abusive chargeback, failing or not completing KYC (or giving false information), breaching multiple accounts, a legal or regulatory risk, or any other material breach.

How Do I Dispute A Breach Or A Decision?

If an automated or Risk-Team decision affected your account — for example a breach — you can ask for a human to review it.

You have the right to request human intervention, put across your point of view, and contest the decision. We’ll review it without undue delay and let you know the outcome within 30 days (extended by up to 60 more days only if the case is especially complex, and we’ll tell you if so).

How To Raise

  1. First, check the breach reason in your dashboard so you know exactly what you’re disputing.

  2. Email support@thetradingpit.com with your account number and a clear explanation of what happened and why you think the decision should be reviewed.

  3. We’ll confirm we’ve received it and come back to you with the outcome within the timeframe above.

How Do I Close My Client Account?

First, make sure this is what you mean. This is about closing your entire Client Account (your Trading Pit profile). If instead your trading account stopped working after a rule breach, that’s a breach, not a closure — see the section above.

To close it, email support@thetradingpit.com from the address on your account.

When your Client Account is closed, all of your active demo trading accounts and Product Contracts end immediately, and any Product Fees already paid are not refunded.
