Using modifiers in a sale

How to use modifiers in a sale: with two different views and shortcut tiles

Updated over 2 months ago

There are few ways to use modifiers: you can create shortcut tiles for products with modifiers, you can manually edit and/or adjust a modifier, and there are 2 different views when using modifers.

1. Modifier shortcuts on the grid

You can make Grid tile shortcuts for products with modifiers that you sell often. For example if you sell a pizza with 10 possible toppings, but most customers just choose cheese and sauce then you can add a cheese and sauce pizza as a shortcut.

To add a modifier shortcut to the Grid:

  1. Open edit mode in a Sales View by long pressing the View name tab until you enter editing mode

  2. Tap an empty Grid space and select Add a product

  3. Select the product you want to add

    1. Below the display name you will see the field Modifiers None >, click this and choose the modifier combination you want as a shortcut

  4. Press Done

  5. To exit editing mode press Done editing

Tebi Tip: Make modifiers non-mandatory to skip the modifier modal appearing when you add a product in this way.

2. Adding and adjusting modifiers from order actions

Use this to adjust modifier selection after adding a product or have modifiers with the setting ‘Edit product to select modifiers’.

  1. Select the product in the sale details

  2. Tap the ✏ pencil icon in the order actions

  3. Add or adjust modifiers as required

3. How to view and select your modifiers during a sale

To change this setting, you need to navigate to Settings > Preferences > Sale preferences > View modifiers > Select: List or Compact Grid

Compact grid view

This view creates an automatic grid that lays out all the modifiers, with modifier groups separated by color. Use this if you have a need for speed during ordering.

List view

This view is great when you want to see modifiers grouped into separate lists. Often used when you have a bit more time to read before making your selections.
