Connecting your printers

How to connect your printers with different network connections

Updated over a week ago

Several ways to connect your printer to the internet

  • Wired Ethernet cable (internet) - MOST RECOMMENDED because it is connected directly to the router and is therefore the most reliable and stable connection.

  • Wi-Fi - available but will go into sleep mode if the device is not used for an extended period of time, to save energy. This can result in prep tickets not being printed.

  • Bluetooth - available but same as Wi-Fi, also Bluetooth is a fairly unreliable connection.

  • USB - only recommended when you only want to connect one device to your printer.

Note: The S1F2 terminal also contains a printer which can be used for receipt printing.

Wired Ethernet connection

  • Make sure the printer is connected to a power socket

  • Connect the printer to the Ethernet cable

  • Turn on your printer

  • On the main tablet/screen: log into the Tebi App > go to Menu > Settings > Printing > Printer selection.

  • Click “+ Add Printer” and the tablet will start searching for the printers connected to the same network. If you see a Searching message, be patient as it may take a minute for the printer to appear.

    • Does the printer not appear? Then your tablet/screen is not connected to the same network.

  • After selecting the printer you want to configure, press Print test receipt to make sure the connection is good. Then click Add to configure this printer to the main screen.

  • Note: this printer does not yet have a printer job but is merely connected to the main tablet.

Tebi Tip

Give the printer a name to make sure you know where this printer is situated.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections

Note: we do not recommend using WiFi and/or Bluetooth printers!

  • Connect the (Bluetooth / Wi-Fi) printer via your tablet’s settings. Consult your printer and/or device’s manual if you’re having trouble.

  • On the main tablet/screen > log into the Tebi App > go to Menu > Settings > Printing > Printer selection.
