Note: Ask Tandem is an evolving feature, and its behaviour may change as we continue to improve it. At this stage, it's not accessible for everyone.
1. Overview
Ask Tandem is an AI-driven clinical decision support tool in a chat format, designed to simplify and streamline workflows where clinicians today need to search for guidelines and information across multiple sources.
By bringing together relevant guidelines, local routines, and clinical knowledge in one place, you can get answers directly in context—with the ability to reason, ask follow-up questions, and verify sources.
Target users:
Physicians and healthcare professionals working in primary, secondary, and emergency care.
Problems it solves:
Fragmented access to guidelines and medical information
Time-consuming searches across multiple systems
Need for quick access to local routines and contact pathways

4. Example prompts
“Summarise this patient case:”
“Which differential diagnoses should be considered for these symptoms?”
“What guidelines apply for treating [condition]?”
5. Best practices
Be clear and specific in your question
Include relevant clinical context (e.g., allergies, comorbidities)
Use follow-up questions to deepen the reasoning
Always review the response before using it
Use as support—not a replacement for clinical judgment
Tip: Think of Ask Tandem as a colleague you consult:
Ask questions
Expect follow-up questions
Verify together
6. Limitations
Ask Tandem may provide incorrect or incomplete answers
Output depends on the quality of input
Missing patient context will affect the response
Should not be used as the sole basis for medical decisions
7. Security & data handling
Data is handled within the EU
Data is not used for model training
Data is deleted along with the note
Security principles:
All responses should be verifiable against a source
The system is designed to reduce hallucinations
Clinical use always requires human review
8. Troubleshooting
Problem: Answers are irrelevant or too general → Add more detail and context
Problem: The answer is insufficient → Ask a more specific follow-up question
Problem: The chat is not working → Refresh
