How does automatic payment work in Tachogram?

Automatic payment lets Tachogram charge your saved bank card by itself, so you don't have to remember to pay a bill by hand every time.

You turn it on once, on a saved card, and Tachogram takes care of the rest.

How this works is a little different for a company account and a personal account, because they're billed in different ways.

Where to find it

For company accounts

For a company, Tachogram first sends an invoice. The amount is based on how many drivers were active in your company that month — you're billed for the drivers you actually used, not a fixed number.

If you have a saved card and automatic payment turned on for it, Tachogram charges that card exactly five days after the invoice is sent. You don't need to do anything for this to happen.

If the charge doesn't go through — for example, the card has expired — you get an email about it, and someone will need to pay the invoice by hand instead.

This means once automatic payment is set up, your company's bills get paid on time without anyone having to watch for invoices and pay them one by one.

For personal accounts

For a personal account, automatic payment keeps your plan going. Your saved card is charged on your billing cycle so your plan renews automatically, without you having to buy it again each time.

You can see your current plan and the amount of your next charge on this same page.

If you choose to turn automatic payment off, your plan will stop renewing after the period you already paid for ends. To do this, or to add a different card first, see How to stop automatic payments or cancel a personal subscription.

Cheking that your card works

🔔 There will be a small charge to verify the card.

When you add a new card, Tachogram makes a small test charge of 1 EUR to make sure the card works.

That amount is returned to your account right away — it's only there to confirm the card is valid, not a real charge. This happens automatically in the background whenever a new card is added.
