What's the difference between a vehicle file's "download date" and "upload date"?

A vehicle's file has two separate dates.

The "Download date" shows when its data was actually taken from the vehicle's tachograph—the moment someone downloaded it using tachograph download equipment. The "Upload date" shows when that same file was added to Tachogram.

These two dates can be far apart: a file might be downloaded from the vehicle on one day, then only added to Tachogram some time later.

👤 Available for:

  • Company accounts — Admin and Manager users

What each date shows

By regulation, a vehicle's tachograph data must be downloaded at least once every 90 days.

  • The "Download date" is what actually shows whether that happened on time.

  • The "Upload date" only tells you when the file reached Tachogram.

Check the "Download date" instead if you need to know whether the vehicle's data was downloaded on time, since a file can be uploaded well after it was downloaded from the vehicle.
