Why are my WTD limits different from another country's?

The Working Time Directive (WTD) is a directive, not a regulation.

This means the European Union sets out the general goals and minimum requirements, but each country decides how to bring these into its own national law.

Because of this, every EU country can adjust certain rules to fit its own labor laws and practices. This is why the limits you see for your country might not match the limits set for another country, even though both are based on the same directive.

If you work across different countries, keep in mind that the limits shown may vary depending on where your driving activity takes place. Always check the specific rules that apply to each country to make sure you stay compliant.
