Getting started with bonus, budget, plan & billing. What is this bonus? How do I manage my budget? What are my costs?

1. How can I view (and upgrade) my plan?

In Superchat, click on your initials in the top right corner and click on Plan & Billing

Here, you'll find an overview of all details regarding your Superchat plan:

  • Costs for your current subscription plan and any additional campaign package.

  • Number of your connected numbers and users.

You can also compare all plans, make upgrades, add users, numbers, and campaign packages.


2. How can I edit my payment information?

  1. In Superchat, click on your initials in the top right corner and click on Plan & Billing.

  2. Navigate to Invoices on the left-hand side.

  3. Here, you can edit your payment details and view all invoices.


3. What do WhatsApp conversations cost?

Meta charges per initiated conversation, not per message.

📝 Conversations are message exchanges between you and your customers within a 24-hour window.

Meta calculates costs based on the type and category of the conversation.

a. What are business- and user-initiated conversations?

WhatsApp conversations are divided into two types:

  • business-initiated conversations: start when you send a WhatsApp template. These are pre-approved messages that Meta reviews and can be reused after approval.

  • user-initiated conversations: start with the first response to the initial customer message. This response doesn't need to be a WhatsApp template.

b. What are the categories for WhatsApp conversations?

Meta defines four categories for conversations, which primarily determine costs for initiated WhatsApp conversations. Prices are also differentiated based on the country code of your customers.

Currently (21.08.24) we only use categories Marketing & Utility (UK market):

4. How much bonus is included in my plan?

As the first German provider, Superchat offers customers a monthly bonus for WhatsApp conversations. This bonus is free and aims to offset the new costs from Meta for small and medium-sized businesses.

The bonus for user-initiated conversations is plan- and category-independent, amounting to 1,000 conversations per month per WhatsApp Business Account (WABA).

The business-initiated conversations bonus varies by plan and is given in euros.

5. How can I adjust my budget?

You can adjust your WhatsApp and SMS budget as follows:

  1. In Superchat, click on your initials in the top right corner and click on Plan & Billing.

  2. Navigate to Budget on the left-hand side.

  3. Here, you can get an overview of your accumulated costs and adjust your WhatsApp and SMS budget as desired.
