Important things to consider when managing your Gambling

  1. Set a budget and stick to it, can you afford to lose your stake?

  2. Take regular breaks or set a personal alarm

  3. Gambling should be for fun and should not be used as a source of income.

  4. Put your daily life, family, friends and responsibilities before gambling.

  5. Never rely on gambling to pay back outstanding debts.

  6. Set a realistic deposit limit on your account.

  7. Under the influence of alcohol or other substances or in recovery? Don't gamble.

  8. Don’t rely on gambling as a daily routine, have alternative interests outside of SportsBroker, not just gambling.

  9. Contact a gambling charity for help with gambling safely and dealing with gambling problems. We’ve included some useful organisations below.

How to set Deposit Limits

Want to limit how much you can deposit in a set time frame? You can quickly and easily set a daily, weekly or monthly deposit limit whenever you wish. Any decreases in your limit that you make will be immediately applied to your account. For your safety, a 24-hour cooling-off period comes into play for any increases you wish to make in your limits. Simply click here to set a limit.

Please note, where multiple financial limits have been set, SportsBroker will apply the lowest limit to your account.

Here is an example of how it works:

  • Set a daily limit of £20.00 and SportsBroker will block any deposits that exceed this amount in a 24-hour period.

  • Set a weekly limit for an amount and the same applies but over a period of 7 days.

  • Set a monthly limit and this refers back to the same date of the previous month. If that date doesn’t exist in the previous month (eg, 31st) then it will be calculated from the 1st of the next month.

  • Lowest limit If you set simultaneous time frames, for example a daily deposit limit and a weekly limit, the lowest limit will always apply. For example, if you have a daily deposit limit of £10 and a weekly deposit limit of £100 and both are set, then the maximum you are allowed to deposit is £10 per day and £70 per week.

Because we calculate backwards from when you attempt to make a deposit, our deposit limits ensure that you can’t exceed the daily, weekly or monthly deposit limits you set.

4. During your Time-Out you will be able to access your SportsBroker to withdraw any available balance. but you will be blocked from depositing or making any bets.
5. Your account will unlock automatically at the end of your Time-Out.

If you want to take a break for longer than 6 weeks, please review the Self exclusion section below or contact Customer Support.

Self exclusion

If gambling with SportsBroker is having a negative impact on you, your life or finances, and you want to stop entirely, you can block your access to SportsBroker by self-excluding. You can do this via our Customer Support Team or online.

  • If you don’t update us with any personal information or you try to open new SportsBroker accounts, we won’t be liable for subsequent decisions to gamble. Any deposits and winnings or losses will stand, any unspent balance will be returned and your account will be immediately closed.
