Membership types allow you to differentiate between various types of members, such as regular members, supporting members, non-members, junior and senior members. The membership type does not affect what each individual can do in the Spond app.

No matter how many groups a member belongs to, they have only one membership type in the club. This makes it easier to manage members and their payment status.

View, Edit, and Delete a Membership Type

  • View

When you are in "Membership Types," you will see a list of created membership types, including the name of the membership type and how many people have been assigned that membership type. You can click on the name of the membership type to go to the page for the selected membership type.

  • Edit

When you are in "Membership Types," you can click on the three dots to the right of the membership type you want to edit and select "Edit" to go directly to the editing page.

If you are already on the overview page for a selected membership type, you can click the button with the three dots at the top right and select "Edit."

On the membership type editing page, you will be able to:

  • Change the name of the membership type

  • Activate Membership Card

    • By checking this box, a digital membership card is activated in the member's Spond profile. This card shows the club's logo, the member's name, and indicates the member's role as a guardian, if applicable.

  • Check the box for whether all members with that membership type should be sent to NIF

When the changes are made, click "Save" at the bottom right.

  • Delete

To delete a membership type, you can do this in two ways.

  • When you are in "Membership Types," you will see a list of created membership types. Click on the three dots to the right of the membership type you want to delete and select "Delete." A new window will appear with a message asking you to confirm that you want to delete the membership type.

  • If you are already on the overview page of the selected membership type, you can click the button with the three dots at the top right and select "Delete." A new window will appear with a message asking you to confirm that you want to delete the membership type.

⚠️ NOTE!
You cannot delete a membership type if it is assigned to any members. You must first remove the membership type from all members before you can delete it. Also, remember to check deactivated members to see if any of them have the membership type you want to delete.

Create a Membership Type

When you are in "Membership Types," you will see a button at the top right labeled "Add Membership Type." Click on this to add a new membership type.

On the page for creating a new membership type, you will be able to:

  • Create the name of the membership type

  • Activate Membership Card

    • By checking this box, a digital membership card is activated in the member's Spond profile. This card shows the club's logo, the member's name, and indicates the member's role as a guardian, if applicable.

  • Check the box for whether all members with that membership type should be sent to NIF.

When the new membership type is fully set up, click "Save" at the bottom right.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the club logo not appear on members' membership cards?

It may be that the logo uploaded under "Settings" -> "Club Settings" has the wrong size. Try uploading a different version of the file. If that doesn't help, contact Spond support.
