⚠️ Note! If your club already has existing groups in the app, it is recommended to import these instead of creating new groups. Read more about how to import existing groups here. The "Create Group" option is for those who do not currently have any teams/groups using Spond.

We recommend one group per team/group. You can also create subgroups within each group. There is no limit to the number of subgroups you can create within a group. Additionally, you can create as many groups as you like. However, there is a limit of 500 members per group.


How to create a new group?

Step-by-Step Guide​

  1. Go to "Departments and Groups"

  2. Click on "Create Group"

  3. Select Department (this does not affect the members)

  4. Short Group Name is what will be displayed for you in Spond Club, while Full Group Name is what the group will be called in the app

  5. Select Contact Person (see the next section for more information)

  6. Age Group affects whether guardians should be included in the group. If you select Children/Youth or Mixed, guardians can be included in the group

  7. You can set group criteria based on gender and age, read more here

  8. You can set a group capacity if there is a maximum number of members

  9. Set available payment methods, read more in the next section

  10. Click "Save"


Available payment methods for the group

From Spond Club, you can assign payment methods to group administrators. In practice, this means that administrators in your groups can collect funds to the payout accounts you have set up in Spond Club. One advantage of this is that you can restrict group administrators from setting up their own bank accounts, ensuring they can only collect funds to the accounts you have established in Spond Club.

When creating a new group, check the boxes for the bank accounts you want the administrators of that group to be able to collect funds for.


How to create subgroups?

After clicking "Save" and creating the new group, you can find it in the list under Departments and Groups.

Click on the group and scroll down to "Subgroups" → Click on "Create Subgroup"


How to Delete a Group?

To delete a group, you can do this in two ways.

  • When you navigate to "Departments and Groups" you will see a list of groups in the club. Click on the three dots to the right of the group you want to delete, and select "Delete".
    A new window will appear with a message asking you to confirm that you want to delete the group. You will need to check all the boxes before you can click "Delete"

  • If you are already on the overview page of the selected group, you can click the "Delete" button at the bottom left.

What happens when I delete a group?


When you delete a group, the following will happen:

  • All members are removed from the group but retained in the club in Spond Club

  • All information posted in the group or subgroup is deleted

  • All activities (and activity history) are deleted

  • The group and any subgroups are permanently deleted in the Spond app as well

Can I restore a deleted group or subgroup?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to restore a group or subgroup. That’s why you have to answer so many questions when deleting it, to ensure that you don’t delete it accidentally.
