Scaling a PDF, PNG, IFC, or GLB based on known coordinates
Scaling a PDF, PNG, IFC, or GLB based on known coordinates

Here's how to scale a file such as PDF, PNG, IFC, or GLB using two known coordinates.

Updated over a week ago

Do the following to scale a file based on known coordinates:

  1. Upload your PDF or PNG file to SkyView and add the file to the object list.

  2. Activate the Scaling tool in the toolbar.

  3. Select the object in the object list on the left that you want to scale and make it visible.

  4. The right panel for the scaling tool will update, and under Scaling Mode at the top of the panel, choose the option Known Coordinates.

  5. You now need to place two reference points by clicking on the drawing in the scene. Left-click on the drawing and choose Place point A. The point will then be marked with a blue indicator in the drawing, and you will see its N and E coordinates in the right panel under the Reference Points section. Example: N or x 5584785.10 and E or y 32433711.86.

  6. Click a second reference point in the scene with a left-click and choose Place point B. The point will then be marked with a green indicator in the drawing, and you will see its N and E coordinates in the right panel under the Reference Points section.

  7. In the Known Coordinates section of the right panel, enter the N and E coordinates for Point A. Do the same for Point B.

  8. To perform the rescaling of the drawing, select Confirm.
