Signagelive's ChromeOS media player client adheres to Google's support framework by maintaining compatibility exclusively with the Long Term Support (LTS) channel.
⚠️ LTS is supported today, but this is changing. Google is removing Chrome Apps in Kiosk mode from the LTS channel from 1 April 2027. After this date, the legacy Signagelive Chrome App will no longer work on ChromeOS, regardless of channel. Signagelive evaluates upcoming versions during the Long Term Candidate phase before deployment. Additional details are available through Google's official documentation on this page.

Google refreshes the Long Term Support channel every 6 months.
The Stable channel receives monthly updates representing the newest ChromeOS iteration. However, Signagelive doesn't validate each Stable channel update, and instead recommends that organizations deploy the Long Term Support channel version, which undergoes pre-release testing.
If a device currently runs a version exceeding the Long Term Support channel version and switches to that channel, the OS version becomes pinned. Updates resume only once the Long Term Support version surpasses the installed version.
