Technical requirements when using the app [Managers edition]

Having issues with the app? Here's a checklist of all the technical requirements needed, from a manager's point of view.

Verfasst von Amanda Larsen

Note that being able to use the app to manage working hours depends on your company agreement with SameSystem. Reach out to your manager or administrator if you are unsure about this agreement.

In this article we'll cover the following topics:

  • Downloading the app, and logging in

  • How to make sure you have the updated app version

  • How to make sure you have a compatible OS (operative system)

  • List of required permissions to be able to check in and out

Download and Login

  1. ✅ Make sure you have downloaded the app on your mobile device. The app is called Check-In, and you can find it on App Store (iPhone), or Google Play (Android).

  2. ✅ Open the app, and log in using your SameSystem-credentials.
Don't know what your login credentials are? Please reach out to your closest manager or administrator to get further help.

Tip: If you have internet access, you can press "Forgot password" using this link to reset your password via mail. Please note, this only works if you've been logged into SameSystem at least once before.

App version & OS (operative system)

  3. ✅ Make sure you have the latest app version. Skip this step if you downloaded the app today.

If you're unsure what app version you have, search after "check-in" on either App Store or Google Play, and check if you're able to update the app. If you can't, you probably have the latest version already. 🙌

Having issues figuring out what app version you have? Send us a chat message -our Support teams might be able to figure it out for you.

Tip: We recommend enabling your mobile device to update the app in the background, so you don't have to spend time wondering whether you need to update it or not. Check out this article to learn how to enable background updates to the Check-In app.

  4. ✅ Make sure you have a compatible OS (operative system). For iOS (iPhones) the minimum requirement is version 12.0. For Android devices, the minimum requirement is version 5.0.

Tip: Read this article if you're unsure of how to check what your current OS is.

    Permissions

  5. ✅ Make sure you have these settings permitted and activated on your phone;
    - Bluetooth ON
    - Bluetooth permission to the app ON
    - GPS/location ON
    - GPS/location permission to the app ON
    - Precise location ON (iPhone only)

Don't worry if you can't find these settings on your phone. If some of the settings are not activated, the app will tell you so and direct you to the correct settings on your phone, as shown below here from an iPhone device:

That's it!

Great job. If you're still experiencing issues using the app, or need more help, please check out our help section below, and/or contact Support.

First time using the app? Remember that you have to register the iBeacon to enable your employees to check in and out of their shifts.

Help & Support

Do my employees need a different app than I have?

No. Both you and your employees can download the Check-In app. By default setup and/or settings made by your administration, the app's functions and permissions will differ depending on the user's role in the company.

My app doesn't look anything like the picture shown in this article

It might be that you have the old app. If you search after "check-in" on App Store/Google Play, the correct app will show up.

How much battery capacity does the app use?

Very little! You can check how much battery all of your apps use in your phone's battery settings. Everyday use of the Check-In app typically uses around 1-3% battery.
