Who can reject a task response?
If a participant needs to make a change to a Task response in a completed Activity, an Analyst or Moderator can reject the specific Task response. Rejecting a Task response reverts the task back into a draft state allowing the participant to modify and resubmit their work.
📌 Note: Rejecting sends the response back to the participant to edit themselves. To make the change yourself instead, see How To Edit a Task Response (Standard Activity). To bypass the task entirely, see How to Skip a Participant Over a Task.
Step 1: Locate the Relevant Task
Navigation: Open the Activity that contains the Task response you want to reject
Scroll down to the Response Summary
Click View next to the participant’s name
Use the Task Name drop-down list to select the specific Task
Step 2: Reject the Task Response
Click the Options button
Select Reject Task Response
(Optional) In the modal that appears, enter an explanation in the text field to inform the participant why their Task response is being rejected
Click Reject Task Response
Expected Outcome
When a Task response is rejected:
Response Status: The Task response returns to a Draft state, enabling the participant to edit their submission
Participant Notification: The participant is notified via email and within the platform that you’ve asked them to edit their Task response, including any explanation you provided during the rejection step
