How do I approve and pay a participant?
Before you approve any submissions, make sure you have enough funds in your account. Check out our Workspace balance & adding money guide to learn more.
You can find submissions awaiting review by selecting the study from your list of projects. From there, you have three ways to approve and pay submissions.
If you do not approve any submissions awaiting review by the 21-day mark (GMT), they will be auto-approved at the median completion time and reward.

Manual approval
Check mark
To the right of each submission you will see a tick or check symbol. If you hover over this, it will say ‘Approve and pay’. Simply click this button to approve and pay the submission it is next to
Multi-approval
To the left of each submission, you'll see a checkbox. Select the checkboxes for all submissions you want to approve. You can also use the checkbox at the very top to select all submissions at once.
Once you've selected all the submissions you'd like to approve, click the "Approve selected" button to process the payments. The button shows how many submissions you've selected for approval.
Approve in bulk
You can approve submissions from specific Prolific IDs by using the bulk approval feature:
To the right of the page, click the ‘Bulk actions’ section
From the drop-down options, click ‘Bulk approve’
On the resulting pop-up, simply enter the Prolific IDs you want to approve separated by a comma, and then click 'Approve'

We only allow participants to be paid via monetary rewards on Prolific. You cannot pay or reward participants with other forms of payment (e.g., vouchers, gift cards, etc.) outside of the Prolific platform. See Prolific's payment principles for further details.
