Updated today

We are updating the 2025 fuel emission factors with the most recent available data from national authorities to ensure your emission calculations remain accurate and up to date. This update affects calculations from 2025 onwards using the Distance method, Distance & mass method, Fuel consumption method, and Distance and vehicle efficiency method across Scope 1 and Scope 3 categories.

The update will be deployed on 22 July 2025. Once deployed, all new activity data uploaded after this date using fuel-related calculation methods will use the updated emission factors.

How will this impact emissions?

We’ve estimated the average change in emissions by fuel type, freight type and vehicle type. The percentage change shows the average increase or decrease in emissions after the new emission factors are released.

Please note:

  • Scope 1 calculates Tank-to-Wheel (TTW) emissions β€” the direct emissions from fuel combustion.

  • Scope 3, Category 3 calculates Well-to-Tank (WTT) emissions β€” the upstream emissions from extracting, producing, and delivering fuels.

  • Other Scope 3 categories, such as upstream and downstream transportation, includes both WTT and TTW emissions.
