To calculate your Downstream Leased Assets emissions, you will need to see what data your organisation has available and choose a calculation method accordingly.

โš ๏ธ We currently support calculating emissions from rented or leased combustion-engine and electric vehicles which may not cover your downstream leased assets emissions to the full extent. This is reflected in the calculation methods available.

Collecting Downstream Leased Assets data may require collecting data which may be not readily available to your organisation. For instance collecting fuel consumption data could require asking your lessees to record this data as part of your arrangement.

Other data such as distance travelled and average fuel consumption may be able to collected internally. For instance, the distance travelled (depending on the length of lease) could be measured by recording the dashboard odometer reading at the beginning and end of the tenancy, whilst the average fuel consumption is usually listed in its manual. Alternatively a quick online search of specific model of your leased vehicle(s) and the year it has been manufactured should provide this.

Usually, you can collect Downstream Leased Assets data from either a Client Services department - who manage relationships with lessees - or Fleet Managers, who oversee maintenance and usage of vehicles.

If you can't access data in the required formats, or have data for business activities not captured in our templates, please take a look at our advice here.
