On July 14th, access to your online GP service will change from the Perkbox Medical app provided by Doctor Care Anywhere to HealthHero.
Your online GP service is moving into the Perkbox app. Doctor Care Anywhere accounts will remain open and switch to a pay-as-you-go account, allowing you to access any previous records. However, from 14th July, all new online GP appointments must be booked through HealthHero.
Why did we make the change?
Firstly, switching means you won’t need to download or keep a separate app, you’ll be able to access everything right within the Perkbox app.
Also, online GP, powered by HealthHero, includes even more useful features to support your wellbeing, like virtual physiotherapy.
What do you need to do?
On July 14th, online GP powered by HealthHero will be available on the Perkbox platform and app. When you first use it, you’ll need to register, which won’t take more than 10 minutes.
How do I find online GP on Perkbox?
You can access it by selecting the ‘Online GP’ tile on the home screen of the app.
On desktop, you can find it on the left-hand navigation menu. Then select ‘Go to HealthHero’. This will take you to a Perkbox HealthHero portal.
What information does HealthHero need from me when I first register?
Perkbox shares your name and email addresses with HealthHero. During the first visit, HealthHero asks for more detailed information. This includes:
Address
Phone number
DOB
Sex at birth
GP details
Medical history (current medications, allergies, preexisting conditions)
This information can be edited at any time.

If I have an appointment booked with Perkbox Medical (Doctor Care Anywhere) after July 14th, can I still attend it?
Yes – if you booked your appointment before July 14th, it will still be honoured, even if the appointment itself is scheduled for a later date.
How do I access my prescriptions that were on Perkbox Medical?
You can still access your prescriptions and medical records by logging into your Perkbox Medical (Doctor Care Anywhere) account — everything stays in one place, and your login details stay the same. Perkbox Medical app will no longer be available at the end of 2025.
What do I do with the Perkbox Medical app?
Perkbox Medical app will no longer be available after 2025, and any new appointments should be booked with HealthHero to be free of charge. If you don’t need to access any old records, then you can simply delete the app.
What will happen to my data?
Your medical records will still be safely stored by Doctor Care Anywhere and can be accessed through your Perkbox Medical (Doctor Care Anywhere) account just like before.
*Some limitations on overseas prescriptions.
**HealthHero can provide an open private referral letter, meaning it cannot be used to access NHS services in the UK
