When you need this

Use this feature when you want to ensure visitors enter a correct phone number—so you don’t waste time tracking down a driver who missed a call-off message because the SMS was sent to the wrong number.

Main idea

During registration, the driver is asked to enter a code to verify his phone number.

Registrations will never be blocked, so visitors can proceed even without phone verification. As a user, you can check in Peripass whether the phone number was verified during registration. If needed, you can set up automation to trigger only when the number hasn’t been verified.

Known limitations

The phone verification service is only available on the Mobile Driver Portal.

If registration takes place at a physical kiosk, phone number verification will not be performed—even if the feature is enabled.

More information

šŸ”„ Phone Number Update & Verification Status

If a phone number that was verified during registration is later updated—either manually or via the API—its verification status will be automatically reset to "Phone number not verified".

āš™ļø Automation Condition: Phone Verification Status

  • You can adjust your automation logic based on whether a user’s phone number has been verified.

  • Use the condition: ā€œVisitor’s phone number verification statusā€.

Delayed Option to Skip Phone Verification

To discourage users from bypassing phone verification, the option to continue without a verified phone number is only available after 30 seconds.

Preventing Excess Transaction Costs

To avoid unnecessary costs when users repeatedly request verification codes, several safeguards are implemented:

ā± Resend Timing Control

  • The "Resend code" option becomes available 30 seconds after the first code was sent.

  • It can only be used at 30-second intervals.

šŸ” Registration Request Limit

Users can request a new code a maximum of six times per registration.

šŸ• Code Validity Window

  • Each new request generates a unique code valid for 5 minutes.

  • If multiple codes are requested, any code within its 5-minute validity can be used to complete verification.

How to set up

Configuration > Profiles > Edit > Linked fields tab > Edit linked field (Phone Number)

Set ā€˜Verify phone number’ to yes.

Important: Enabling this configuration will trigger a warning message informing users that transaction fees will be incurred to cover the cost of the activated service.
