What does it mean?
You're currently in a different country than the one listed on your account. This is often because you're on holiday, or using a VPN or proxy.
You're not banned from Prolific, but if this keeps happening, you may not be able to take studies from this internet connection.
Note: you won't be able to withdraw your money while you're in a different country.
Can I use Prolific while traveling?
No, we recommend waiting until you're back in your country of residence before taking studies again. This applies to everyone equally, there's no exception for frequent travelers, dual nationals, or people with mobile lifestyles. Your account details need to match wherever you're currently living, and you'll need to update them each time you move.
What can I do?
Make sure you're not using a VPN or similar tool, such as iCloud Private Relay on Apple devices, or a proxy
Check your country of residence is correct on your Account page, under Residential address
Wait until you're back in your country of residence to take studies again
If you've recently returned from abroad, try resetting your internet router
