Chicken Run: Eggstraction – Missing the Shop or trying to unlock the "Brodent" trophy?

Story Mode vs Classic Mode Explained. Missing the Shop. Trophy not unlocking.

If you're unable to find the Shop, Inventory, or character upgrade options in Chicken Run: Eggstraction, don't worry — this is often related to the game mode you're playing.

What's the difference between Story Mode and Classic Mode?

Story Mode

Story Mode is designed to provide a more accessible experience. In this mode:

  • Character skills upgrade automatically as you progress through the game.

  • Upgrade buttons will not appear in menus.

  • Some progression systems are simplified to support the story-focused experience.

  • The Shop is not available.

If you're playing in Story Mode, this behaviour is expected.

Classic Mode

Classic Mode offers a more traditional gameplay experience with additional management features. In this mode:

  • You can manually upgrade your characters using upgrade points.

  • Upgrade buttons should be visible when upgrades are available.

  • The Shop becomes accessible, allowing you to purchase items and unlock certain achievements/trophies.

  • You can access your Inventory to manage purchased items.

I'm trying to unlock the "Brodent" trophy, but there's no Shop. What should I do?

The "Brodent" trophy requires you to buy an item from the Shop, which means you'll need to be playing in Classic Mode to unlock it.

If you're currently playing in Story Mode, you can switch to Classic Mode through the game's accessibility settings.

Can I switch between Story Mode and Classic Mode at any time?

While it is possible to change modes, we recommend completing your current Story Mode playthrough before switching to Classic Mode.

We've seen reports of unexpected behaviour when changing modes mid-playthrough, and the team is currently investigating these issues. To avoid potential problems with your save data, it's best to leave Classic Mode objectives and trophies until after you've finished Story Mode.

How do I change game modes?

You can change your game mode by navigating to:

Settings > Accessibility > Game Mode

From there, select either Story Mode or Classic Mode.

I'm playing Classic Mode and still can't access these features.
