Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Co-Op Mode Guide

Co-Op in TMNT lets two players enjoy the main story together, but mission selection can affect how it works. This guide explains how Co-Op functions and how to ensure both players join correctly.

How to start Co-Op mode

When starting the game:

  1. From the main menu, select Co-Op mode

  2. Make sure you choose a Main Mission to begin playing together

  3. Once the mission starts, the second player should be able to join and play alongside you

Important:
If you start a side mission first, the game will launch in single-player mode only.

How Co-Op progression works

Once you have successfully started Co-Op through a main mission, Co-Op will generally remain active for most of your playthrough.

  • All main missions are playable in Co-Op

  • After starting Co-Op correctly, you can continue playing most of the story together

However, there are some exceptions:

Side missions and single-player content

Not all content supports Co-Op.

  • Many side missions are designed as:

    • Time-based challenges

    • Solo experiences

  • These will automatically switch to single-player mode

This is intentional and part of the game design.

Common issues and tips

If Co-Op is not working as expected, check the following:

  • Ensure you selected a main mission to start Co-Op

  • Restart the mission if only one player appears

  • Avoid starting with side missions if you want Co-Op gameplay

  • Make sure both controllers / players are properly connected before starting
